Materials

The requirements for materials in heat engineering applications are manifold. The demand for optimum thermal conductivity is common to all fields of application. Added to this are aspects such as corrosion resistance, formability, weight minimisation, etc.

With the exception of silver, copper is the metal with the best thermal conductivity. However, there are also applications in which the excellent properties of copper cannot be used for example for reasons of corrosion resistance. Therefore, we offer part of our product range in other materials, such as aluminium or steel, thereby covering a very wide spectrum of applications. Full price transactions and re-engineering

Our core competence lies in the manufacture of semi-finished products and components through the use of our proven expertise in forming and heat engineering. We divide the metal business into metal purchasing, i.e. the procurement of the pre-material, and fabrication, i.e. the manufacture of the product from the pre-material. Our customers can choose between full price and conversion business. In the full price business we procure the material. For copper there is also the possibility of conversion business. In this case, your production scrap is melted and processed into new high-quality products.

Full price and conversion business is subject to certain conditions. We will be happy to discuss these conditions with you. Please contact your account manager at Wieland to decide together which version will be advantageous for you.

Recycling and supply

Environmental protection plays an important role in our company and we use resources economically and efficiently. The metals we use are largely recyclable, with copper being recyclable even up to 100 %. Scrap and production waste are melted in our state-of-the-art foundry or re-introduced into the raw materials cycle via partner companies.

Security of the supply

Wieland stands for reliability. In order to be able to meet the delivery dates agreed with you, the right quantities of the different materials must be available at the right time – even if in short supply on the markets. One of the principles of our metal procurement is security of supply. The combination of an experienced team of experts for metal purchasing and a solid network of suppliers enables us to ensure a secure supply of pre-material also in future
