Since November 2007 the two companies, Technip and Wieland, have been working together to develop and market solutions for high-efficiency heat transfer in the field of natural gas liquefaction (LNG) and ethylene production.
A joint development phase of more than ten years preceded the current fully industrialised concept. Projects run by universities and industry and promoted by the European Union have made a significant contribution to the development, qualification and deployment. These projects have also created a wider knowledge base for new solutions in high-efficiency heat transfer.
In the context of the Technip / Wieland cooperation, large plants for natural gas liquefaction and ethylene production are being optimised. High-efficiency heat exchangers are deployed as a standard solution for various applications.
